The Shoei Neotec 3 is nothing short of the new standard bearer for high quality modular motorcycle helmets.
The Neotec brings with it all the trademarks of a modern Shoei helmet—from its meticulously handmade and finely finished fiberglass shell, to its well-engineered pads and shield systems, which interchange and operate brilliantly.
Note: we find most folks fit standard sizes out of the box, but if you do need to go with a , or , we have them in stock, and can at the time of purchase swap them out from the original pads at no additional cost.
And one of the best parts of this helmet, and it's GT-Air 3 cousin, is , which offers a factory-fit Bluetooth helmet comm system. This plug-and-play insert replaces the factory trim panels on the side of the helmet, and delivers Harmon Kardon mic/speakers, and fully integrated functionality.

The flip-up feature is nice on paper, but given the fact that even the manufacturer doesn't recommend you ride with the jaw-bar in the up position (not to mention the fact it presents the perfect air dam when open), we are hesitant to recommend the Neotec over the —this helmet's close cousin.
Why? Because the non-modular version of this helmet is lighter, less expensive, and ultimately, a bit safer. In the worst-case scenario "woodpecker" impact, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and we'd rather see you out there in a real full-face and not a flip-up.
If you're a tobacco smoker (or chewer), a claustrophobic, a motorcycle cop, or if you just love the ability to use facial recognition to unlock your phone, then modulars are for you. If you could get away without the flip-up feature, we would rather sell you a less expensive, but objectively safe and better helmet.
